Neurogenic Yoga creatively and mindfully combines gentle movement from the worlds of yoga and somatics to prepare the body for a guided, passive tremoring exercise. This tremoring is the body’s own natural, non-forceful way of releasing stored muscle tension and supporting nervous system regulation—similar to how animals instinctively shake after stress, like a dog during a thunderstorm.

Developed by Jennica Mills and Maria Alfaro, Neurogenic Yoga was inspired by their work with Dr. David Berceli and his research on trauma and tension release. Their approach integrates yoga and somatic movement as a supportive complement to this process.

This practice invites new ways of relating to the body as our vehicle for life, honoring its innate intelligence and living memory. The class is slow, accessible, and choice-based. Tremoring is always optional, guided with care, and approached with curiosity rather than effort.

No prior experience with yoga, somatics, or tremoring is required. Students are encouraged to move, rest, or modify as needed, meeting the practice at their own pace in a calm, supportive environment.
